How E85 profitability is calculated

The calculator compares yearly SP95/E10 cost with yearly E85 cost after overconsumption. If savings are positive, the conversion kit cost is divided by monthly savings.

yearly savings = petrol cost - E85 cost ; payback = kit cost ÷ (yearly savings ÷ 12)
Example

Clear threshold

The output shows whether E85 really saves money and when it starts paying off.

E85 is often cheaper per liter, but it usually increases consumption. An E85 profitability calculator must therefore compare the real yearly cost, not only the displayed pump price difference.

This page answers searches such as E85 conversion kit payback, bioethanol savings or E85 return on investment calculator. It helps drivers decide whether conversion makes sense for their mileage.
